Position: Technical Writer
Overview: ITC is actively seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our team in providing experience in research, writing, and developing instructions for our customer. The Technical Writer is responsible for creating detailed, precise, and clear documentation needed to support Foreign Military Sales (FMS) logistics operations. This role includes the development of instructions, requirements definitions, and the creation of various instructional materials, such as International Logistics Control Office (ILCO) instructions and Overseas Issuing Instruction. This role calls for professional expertise as the successful candidate will work independently.

Position: Technical Writer

Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive ILCO instructions, ensuring that all components are accurately listed and described to facilitate effective procurement and inventory management.
- Create detailed Overseas Issuing Instructions that comply with relevant regulations and ensure smooth operations in international environments.
- Draft and maintain requirements definitions for various projects, focusing on clarity, completeness, and compliance with customer and regulatory standards.
- Prepare instructional content that is customized to meet the specific needs of diverse stakeholders, including technical staff, management, and international partners.
- Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather necessary information and ensure technical accuracy in all documentation.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand operational needs and translate them into precise documentation.
- Facilitate communication between different departments, ensuring that the documentation reflects the latest operational changes and requirements.
- Review and revise documentation regularly to assure clarity, accuracy, and compliance with regulations and industry standards.
- Implement feedback from SMEs, stakeholders, and end-users to continuously improve the quality and usability of documentation.
- Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure that all documents are free of errors and inconsistencies.
- Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to project scope.
- Prioritize tasks based on project timelines and organizational needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 4-5 or more years of experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in editing and proofreading materials.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Literature, Journalism, or related discipline.
- Expert in Microsoft Office Suite
- Able to provide constructive criticism to others.
- Experience with the development of project and program briefings studies.
- Former experience with document generation and preparation of formal correspondence.
- Prior professional experience in government consulting, publishing, and mass-communication preferred.
- Former experience working on complex, large DoD programs or projects.
- Prior NAVSUP FMS experience.
- Prior military or government experience.
